BRISTOL SOUTH SWIMMING POOL
As a regular swimmer at Bristol South Swimming Pool, Emma Swain has long admired its historic character. In January 2025, her curiosity led her to explore the pool’s rich past with the volunteer restoration group Friends of Bristol South. Opening in 1931, the pool is now one of the only remaining historic swimming pools still operating in Bristol. This project captures the building’s unique character and the dedication of Friends of Bristol South, whose ongoing restoration work is vital to its preservation. Working alongside the volunteers and the pool’s internal team, the project documents the pool as it exists today for future generations.
